The absolute truth! In case of most Indians, a lot of information has been drilled into us and we have been forbidden to question the same. If ever there was an alternate thought, it was hushed up saying, “…but that is not what History says.” This book has brought all those thoughts and questions to the surface. It has dealt with various issues and has smacked the Indian Political world on its bottom. The author has done in-depth research on separating fact from fiction and that is commendable. It is a very well written book and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is willing to take a breath of fresh air in this tamasha-heavy Indian political circus.
Ritansha Patni, Senior Manager – New Initiatives, SWIGGY, Bengaluru, Karnataka –
This masterclass from Amit Bagaria provides a refreshing and new perspective on the most important and game changing events in India’s past. It makes you stop, think about and question everything you’ve learned through the years. This book gives insights into an alternate reality than the one we’ve been fed through our school history books, the media and politicians – from little known facts about Gandhi to the astonishing ineffectiveness of our parliamentary governance and electoral systems. It’s definitely an eye opener.
Lt. Colonel (Ret’d) Manish Jaitly, Author of 6 Books –
An exhilarating effort which not only demystifies many of the myths perpetrated by powers that be over the years, but also questions the status quo in the system of governance in India vis-à-vis the western world. The book raises some valid questions which merit attention, answers to which could well usher in a debate on where we are and where we are headed, as a nation. A powerful rendition indeed!
Vidushi Sharma, NLP Coach & Therapist, Bengaluru, Karnataka –
A ‘plot-twist’ on Indian political history. Allow yourself to get absolutely thrilled by the book which unfolds historical politics in a new light.
Kumar Ankur, Digital and Social Media Consultant, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
The [book] changed my views about many things spoon-fed into our mind from childhood days. Concise but great insights.
Mohit Mehta, Startup Founder, New York City, USA –
An amazing chronicling of Indian history, politics, religion, culture and geography. An eye opener for sure!
Pulak Lohia, Businessman, New Delhi, Delhi –
Even though the anti-Nehru/Gandhi family tilt is evident, it is nonetheless a very interesting read. It will be great to familiarise the generation of 20s & 30s with sketches of Indian history, written in very readable form, unlike many history books. The issue of our system of governance needs to be debated as it has failed us. One must read [the book] to know the alternatives.
Jyotika Kamath, Practising Company Secretary & Corporate Advisor, Bengaluru, Karnataka –
As a student, I always mugged what I didn’t understand. This book gives all those perspectives I should have had. I wish I had this as a reference book. Very simple, devoid of any Tharoor kind of language.

Shubham Aney, Nashik, Maharashtra –
A great compilation of facts. Some are surreal while others make you join hands with the author in raising questions. A book with all known human emotions and a deadly combo of conspiracy
and international politics.
Shubham Bhatia, IT Professional, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
The truths revealed in this book may come as a shocker to many of you. I continued reading until I completed the book and lot of myths got cleared from my mind.
Varshini Vinoth, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu –
The book revolves around real life characters but is no less than a thriller. Get ready for a ride of surprises.
Varun, Amazon Verified Purchaser –
If you love history, politics or just want to teach yourself to start dissecting everything instead of being brainwashed – this book is for you!
Anahita Irani, AMAZON TOP 1000 Reviewer, Mumbai, Maharashtra –
I was stunned by the contents of the book which had some shocking revelations about various aspects we were made to believe. I am sure this book wouldn’t have seen the light, if it was released before 2014. Thankfully, it is out now and I firmly believe it is the right of every Indian to know the truth. While pointing out various aspects, author does not shy away from raising the questions to us the readers – and asking us to decide.
Babu Beg, College Student, Delhi –
I am sure, the aspects discussed in the last 2 chapters may soon become reality. He may or may not be liked to called another Nostradamus but for sure, if it does happen, he predicted it first, and you read it in this book.
Deepa Dhan, Avid Book Reader and Reviewer, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu –
The author puts forth a valid question: “At the time of Independence, 70% of total area of India belonged to the Princely States. These were integrated into India by Sardar Patel. Didn’t he deserve the title Father of the Nation rather than Gandhi?” Only when we start asking questions, we would get answers. This is the ideology of the author. How many of us have raised this question? You will discover/unearth answers to many more questions.
Mohit Kapoor, Full-time Blogger, New Delhi, Delhi –
Be ready to be empowered with the truth.
Prathyu Kamesh, Software Engineer, Hyderabad, Telangana –
A book which is apt for everyone who wants the truth. The research and effort of Amit are really appreciable. It really helps the new generation to understand how the system in India works.
Rahul Gupta, Student, Kolkata, West Bengal –
Amit Bagaria had the guts to open up the Pandora’s box of what has been concealed from us all this while. It is not that others did not speak or write about it but putting them together in one place, certainly needs great guts and Amit has done just that.
Sarath Babu, Author, Blogger & Amazon Top 500 Reviewer, Chennai, Tamil Nadu –
In a genuine attempt, the author has touched upon many sensitive issues and busted myths which we were long made to believe as being true.
Shilpa Helen, Yoga Teacher and Serial Book Reviewer, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh –
The book makes you understand what real politics is and how the seeds to what we are witnessing now, were sown in the past.
Sourav Mondal, Photographer, Kolkata, West Bengal –
They say truth is bitter. If concealed for long, even a lie would be construed as a truth and it becomes difficult to change it in the mindset of the people, which is what the author has tried to do via this book.
Dr. Priyaranjan Mohan, Dentist, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
It may not be a stretch to say this book blew my mind and in the best possible way. Amit Bagaria has done a great job. He backs his allegations with facts that too with strong and conclusive evidence. A must read book. Highly recommend.
Chandan Kumar, IT Professional, Bengaluru, Karnataka –
[This book] would make anyone with a sane mind think twice before coming to a conclusion. I have read other reviews and I can say that they, more or less, conform to my mindset.
Gurwinder Singh Kahlon, Patiala, Punjab –
I fell in love with the author’s writing style. He has lot of valid points and has raised genuine questions. Some are shocking. We are entitled to know the truths about lot of hidden facts. I am sure we would come to know them in the future if not now, and a certain part of the contribution would be because of this book.
Fathima Ismail, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
Author’s observation of Indian politics is top class. The information in his book is mind blowing. It has changed my perception on various leaders I had held in high esteem.
Niranjan Hiriadka, Amazon Top 500 Reviewer, Bengaluru, Karnataka –
The book did not clear myths about age long traditions but few actual events. I was always of the opinion that few purported things weren’t correct and I got all the info I needed to get my doubts cleared. The thrill factor can be felt in every page.
Deepesh Sharma, Teacher, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh –
This book might not appeal to you if you are a hardcore Congress supporter but it is high time that you understood what exactly happened probably before you were born. I was shell shocked to see as to how power was literally abused by those who we considered as great leader(s). Each of the 18 chapters is no less interesting than the other. As a true patriotic Indian, I felt that the message conveyed in this book should reach everyone. You may not have come across something like this before since author took all efforts and compiled it which certainly needs guts to do so. What I liked the most from this book is author’s writing style and the way he puts forth his points which is subtle but at the same time strong and conclusive.
Abhimanyu Shaw, Book Reviewer, Kolkata, West Bengal –
This book is written from the perspective of a commoner and if you apply the same ideology/mindset which the author has applied in trying to find answers, you will agree to his viewpoint. The author is here to make a difference.
Ankita Saraswat, Homemaker, Kolkata –
The facts that have found place in this revolutionary book are certainly worth a mention.
Brinda Ramani, Avid Book Reader and Reviewer, Chennai, Tamil Nadu –
This book from Amit is yet again very well researched. It will make you feel stunned.
Deepika Garg, IT Professional, Chandigarh –
Amit Bagaria stamps his authority over the subjects he takes up for discussion. This is due to his extensive research coupled with his dedication. Anyone who reads any of his books would surely fall in love with his writing style which is fluid.
Dev Roy, Photographer, Howrah, West Bengal –
It’s high time you start seeing the world in a different perspective and author has achieved it through this book.
Dhiraj Gupta, Avid Book Reader and Reviewer, Kolkata, West Bengal –
We read history as was presented to us without realizing that most were doctored or written as per the convenience of those in power. This myth-buster will make you feel empowered.
Naveen Sharma, Avid Book Reader & Reviewer, Mohali, Punjab –
The author shows his ability to analyse things in a neutral way rather than taking sides.
Pintu Sadhukhan, Blogger, Kalyani, West Bengal –
Read this book with an open mind. I assure you that you would go back to the so called historians and start raising questions.
Richa Jagyasi, Serial Book Reviewer, Howrah, West Bengal –
Another great write-up from the stable of Amit Bagaria who is fearless and speaks about facts in a crystal-clear manner.
Sachin J. Tater, Student, Hyderabad, Telangana –
This book is a real eye-opener. I was impressed with the fluid style of writing and I can vouch that the author knows the art (or rather mastered the art) of writing as it was always in his blood.
Saikat Gon, Student, Burdwan, West Bengal –
A detailed account of lot of important events that happened in the past which changed the course of our country’s history, this book will surely make you to sit and listen, think and react.
Sapna Dubey, Student, Delhi –
I have been following the author’s writings for a while on social media. He was targeted by the so-called Left Wing which cost irreparable damage to his name and reputation in a leading SM platform (which shows how biased they are) but he has turned his attention towards literature and given us 9 books in just a year. Many interesting trivia in this book keep you hooked till the end.
Shailendra Singh, Tech Enthusiast & Internet Guru, Mumbai, Maharashtra –
Amit’s Demythsifying Myths is a classic. He has shown his art of writing coupled with some great research and has come out with something which you wouldn’t have even thought about it in your wildest dreams. This book is no less than a thriller.
Shree Janani Sunderrajan, IT Professional, Chennai, Tamil Nadu –
Indian history is one subject I loathed as a kid since it didn’t give much scope for logical thinking. I completely ignored anything to do with Indian history until I stumbled upon this book. The myths the author chose to tackle initially seemed one-sided since it is related to Congress [party] and its heads, but I realized that the Congress was an integral part of India. What people failed to have understood is that Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, who were glorified by the party and the society, were humans with common human traits. They weren’t exactly God-like. It is fairly evident that the writer has done immense research. His in-depth study of the American system of government is commendable and his reasoning why it might be good [for India] is thought provoking. The content on Indira Gandhi’s personal life wasn’t warranted. In short, the book is well researched, well written and thought-provoking.
Shrinidhi Hande, IT Professional, Chennai, Tamil Nadu –
Bagaria’s Demythsifying Myths makes an attempt to correct some historic blunders or provide insights not publicly available. The book explains incidents in a different perspective without bias, prejudice or a pre-conceived notion of what is right.
Sindhu Vinod Narayan, Blogger and Book Addict, Chennai, Tamil Nadu –
If you love political genre you will not regret picking up this book and finish it at one go. The effort taken to collect the information and amalgamate them into this wonder book of truths is commendable. The author is neutral and completely honest with his views. The writing style is crisp and clear with the author making the points bang on.
Gaurangi Sinkar, Student, Mumbai, Maharashtra –
The author has researched and summarised the 18 myths in a lucid way. The book is well paced. I really loved author’s writing skill and how he put forward his points.
Gayatri Mitra, Chef, Kolkata, West Bengal –
The writing style is simple and conversational which is a plus point for those who love reading simple English.
Heena Vijayvergiya, Homemaker, Gurugram (Gurgaon), Haryana –
I applaud the author for throwing light on many varied topics. There were times when I was left perplexed, annoyed and disturbed. Many theories in the book can serve as great debate points for young Indians. It’s definitely true that everything we know about India & our history isn’t correct.
Heta Chokshi, Student, Vadodara, Gujarat –
A short read worth the time. There’s nothing new about history but the writer makes us see things in a different light. The language is simple but keeps one intrigued till the end.
Jenosha Agnes, Student, Indore, Madhya Pradesh –
Easy to read book, the language and topics are on point. It will be a big eye opener for someone who has 0 upper knowledge of the ‘other’ politics of India. Overall it was a nice book to feed my political sense with the flow n charm of humour.
Karanpreet Kaur, CRM Executive, Nagpur, Maharashtra –
This book includes everything that should’ve been included in history books. Every Indian must read this to know the truth.

The book is a great source of knowledge. Any history lover will enjoy the book. The writing style is lucid and simple.
Manali Hetal Gajare, Navsari, Gujarat –
You will be blown away after reading this amazing piece on history. Buy it for answers to myths about India & its politics.
Rounak Raj, Jadugora, Jharkhand –
OMG! This is not one of those books you will forget about, it will keep you awestruck. I think it deserves to be a bestseller.
Shahnaz Parvin, Book Reviewer, Jaipur, Rajasthan –
The book serially demystifies fallacies in our history. The author has gathered tremendous knowledge about historical facts, and burrowed deep to their roots to produce each in a precise manner. The writing style is good, the language is easy to understand.
Jenny Arora (Jahnavi), Content Writer, New Delhi, Delhi –
The amount of research and thinking that the author put in the making of this gem is impressive. The language is really lucid and the flow is uninterrupted. The author has tried to remain brutally honest and impartial throughout, however, at some places I couldn’t help but question if the perspective was a little bit partial. A great source of knowledge and wisdom, with factual and interpretational data, the book was a great read.
Bobin Sham, AMAZON TOP 3000 Reviewer & Blogger, Kerala –
I have never seen that any author has written something like this where he has tried to uncover the truths of some reputed personalities. I really loved his writing. We should never accept anything as granted whether he is a Mahatma or a common person. The book has taught me this. It has some interesting stories to tell. I have recommended this one to all my friends.
Pranshu Kumar, Freelance Content Consultant, Delhi, Delhi –
It is really hard for a common person to believe what the author has written. But after reading and getting help from Google, you will begin to understand what have you been believing thus far and what’s behind that layer… Amit is courageous to come out with such a book!
Aditya Sharma, Book Lover & Reviewer, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh –
Amit Bagaria comes up with an outstanding book like his other books. This is the story of a betrayal that has been done to us by our historians and biographers who have kept us from knowing the realities that remain hidden behind the curtains we all want to peep across. Are you ready to get introduced to some uncomfortable truths? Read this book!
Rahul Sharma, Student, Delhi, Delhi –
You cannot put down this book even for a minute. From the beginning, it will strike you with amazing facts that you are not aware of and you will start following them continuously. It may be possible that your thought process is about to change!
Gautam Chaudhary, Client Service Executive, New Delhi, Delhi –
I thank Amit Bagaria for coming up with this amazing book. This will be an eye-opener for many who, like me, believed in what they read in history books. The time is to now know the truth behind the veils of lies and cobwebs of confusion.
Rahul Sinha, Accountant, Mehsi, Bihar –
This book by Amit Bagaria really slams many deep-rooted secrets that we were kept from knowing all our lives. A must-read for all!
Alok Kumar, Law Student, Patna, Bihar –
I have read many nonfiction books this year but this is the one that caught my attention the most! Amit Bagaria’s concept, the secrets he decided to unfold and the myths he decided to bust – everything is so well brought-about in this book is amazing.
Rakesh Rawat, Freelance Blogger, Kota , Rajasthan –
This book is a whole new thing that should become the talk of the town. You should read this to get introduced to facts that you did not know all these years. No one will tell you these things in school, colleges, universities or even in the media. Amit Bagaria has gone a further mile…enjoy his daring book!
Jitesh Narsimhan, Book Blogger, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh –
There is certainly a lack of references but I request readers to do a little Google search and they will see that whatever Mr Bagaria has suggested has validity. This is a mind-blowing book, I must say it! Facts are surprising, shocking and hair-raising.
Manish Kumar, Financial Analyst, Bodh Gaya, Bihar –
This book brings Indian youth closer to the answers of many questions that have seldom been raised by the masses. It answers some of the most important questions that unmask, uncover, and demystify many ideas, many people, and also many ideals.
Ashutosh Sinha, Teacher, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh –
This outstanding work by Amit Bagaria provides a refreshing and new perspective on historical events.
Jagdish Sharma, Literature Student at BHU Varanasi, Patna, Bihar –
I really enjoyed this book. The author has brought several truths to the fore which will help the youth in realising what lies they have been fed as truths and facts. I commend Mr. Bagaria for this. The lack of a list of references makes it a little troublesome for some hardcore believers in facts to take the book as a document based on facts. Otherwise, the book is a must read for everyone.
Dennis Francis, Lecturer, Secunderabad (Hyderabad), Telangana –
There are many interesting truths in the book that will shock you or surprise you! There is lack of evidence, but google the facts and you will find them easily.
Akhilesh Kumar, Teacher, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
The descriptions are apt, the storytelling is interesting, and the book serves its purpose. There is no list of references, so some facts may seem hearsay if you are not familiar with them. Overall, a book that I have enjoyed a lot.
Rahul Anand, Teacher, Bihar –
I have read many books on Indian history but this one by Amit Bagaria is certainly different. He has tried his best to convey the hidden or you can say the secrets of Indian political and ancient history to the current generation of readers. I am sure the readers will like the idea of Amit Bagaria and will appreciate his book.
Varun Barua, Student, Hyderabad, Telangana –
Replacing someone’s entire conditioned memory system cannot be done without credible evidence following your assertions… Amit’s job is noble but his means need corrections…still a must-read book, no doubt!
Kamal Rakhecha, Student, Delhi –
This book should be read by India’s youth right now. We have been reading wrong history and have been fed the wrong concepts and notions altogether. The time to get introduced to truth is now and this book will help the cause a lot.
Amritanshu Ankit, Student, Patna, Bihar –
Amit Bagaria’s book truly dismantles the wrong perceptions and myths generated by people with vested interests.
Zerneela Mohammed, Student, New Delhi, Delhi –
Demthysifing Myths by Amit Bagaria is an immense criticism of the INC and its rule over India. If the present government is criticised so largely then why not the government that had governed India since Independence? This book puts forward an image of what politics actually is. It breaks down the myth of Gandhi being a “Mahatma”, Nehru being our “chacha” and all other glorifications of the INC. It says that India could have been a developed nation had it not been a socialist country. The author also highlights the Hindu rashtra concern saying that he wants a rashtra wherein the majority shouldn’t be treated as second class citizens rather they should be given the same importance as the minorities have received so far. He makes it clear that he doesn’t want Muslims to be sidelined as well. By the end of the book the author questions the style of governance in India and tries to draw a comparison between the parliamentary and presidential forms of government. He leaves several questions for the readers to answer. A brilliant book that makes you ponder upon what we have been fed since childhood, the reality of politics and the choice of government.
Ananya Sharma, Student, New Delhi, Delhi –
I did not read any such book on the hidden side of Indian history and politics before. Amit Bagaria has peeled the layers of hidden and suppressed parts of Indian history that no historians or academicians will tell you. A must-read!
Abhishek Kumar Mishra, AMAZON TOP 500 Reviewer, New Delhi, Delhi –
Amit Bagaria will be the next bestseller! Demythsifying Myths is an amazing book that clears the mist from many hidden secrets of Indian history and politics. We have all been reading wrong history – you will certainly feel the same after reading this book.
Alok Mishra, Editor-in-Chief, Ashvamegh magazine, Bihar –
This book bridges the gap between what you know and what you MUST know. He has opened up a Pandora’s box of uncomfortable truths that may disturb people with certain biases and delight people with other biases. It strikes the unconventional chords of truth and it seems amazing to see an author coming to the fore and battling the misconceptions and wrong historical perspectives. Amit’s book is a must-read for all – youth and old alike. All the best with your introduction to the truth!
Nitin Garg, Student, Delhi, Delhi –
The hidden side of India.
Tarun Rathore, Sales Manager, Delhi, Delhi –
I enjoyed reading the book by Amit Bagaria and shared facts that I did not know with my friends. Many times, we just believe what others believe without knowing what’s the truth. This book will make you think! Do read it.
Akshay Yadav, Student, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
I was amazed by the quality of research that Amit must have gone through while writing this book. Go through this book and you will understand why a good sense of history is important!
Pawan Kumar Pandey, Direct Sales Manager, Noida, Uttar Pradesh –
We have never been told who said Rashtrapita was Gandhi, who said Nehru was chacha of Indian kids and what happened during the Congress era… now an author has dared to tell the truths one by one and we must appreciate his courage!
Nishtha Shah (Feel the Read), Student, Vadodara, Gujarat –
Every piece of history is just its historians’ narrative. It’s always about what we choose to believe. If India’s history is about the Mughal dynasty in our curriculum, it is equally about Pallava, Pandya and Wodeyar Dynasties, which are not in our curriculum. In this book, the author speaks about various topics – India’s age, Mahatma Gandhi, the Nehru family, the various scams, Hinduism, Hindu Rashtra, the need for the Rajya Sabha, Indian Parliamentary system v/s US Presidential system. This book has brought to light aspects of MK Gandhi, which are not much spoken about. As much as I like few Gandhian ideologies, I never much liked the man and this book just gave me more reasons not to. Everything from Nehru’s affairs, to questioning why he is called ‘chacha’ and why his birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day is discussed. The author has discussed many of his failures, including what ignited Jinnah to demand a separate nation for Muslims. Indira Gandhi’s life has been discussed in depth, from her affairs and marriage with Feroze Gandhi to her break-up with the last man in her life. Does India actually need the Rajya Sabha, with no one elected directly by ‘WE THE PEOPLE’? None of us ever speak about this, but what’s written in the book will blow your mind. The author has written in-depth about Hinduism and Hindu Rashtra. The failure of Indian Parliamentary system v/s the success of the US Presidential System is explained wonderfully. The Constitution of India has been discussed critically using statements of the very framers of the constitution. The language is very lucid and easy to understand. I googled things to verify them, and yes, the book is well-researched. As much as we know about all the good things about our great leaders, we are entitled to know the bad stuff as well. No one is perfect and we should never stop questioning history. The writing style feels as if the author is super angry. By the time I finished the 1st half of the book, I was convinced the author is a right-winger, happy the 2nd half cleared my head. There is over-detailing of information about US elections. I recommend this book to any and all who are interested in knowing the other side of the story we Indians are never told.
Yash Sharma, Student, Jaipur, Rajasthan –
Amazing book with simple language and very knowledgeable for the youth. This book hit me hard when I came to know about the harsh truth about the present and past governments.
Swapna Peri, AMAZON TOP 1000 REVIEWER, Sambalpur, Odisha –
An interesting and shocking book. The narration is perfect, with no extra dose of facts or beating around the bush. You get an eerie feeling after knowing certain things. The author presents some of the most shivering facts that have been masked under the name of history or by some people for their own political benefits. Every reader of Indian political history will definitely get engrossed in the wonderful narration.
ADR Sharukh, Student, New Delhi, Delhi –
Amit Bagaria’s book [should] be a side-history book that everyone reads just after coming out of the school to understand how much they have been put in the dark! A wonderful compilation of 18 facts about India, Indians, Indian history and politics that you need to know.
Neduncheliyan (Nitin Kapoor), Student, Delhi, Delhi –
The limitations of a seemingly biased narrative are there. But the book is based on extensive research and the author has done wonderfully in that context. Amit has exposed some hidden layers of our history – ancient and recent. You will like the book.
Karishma Pahuja, Student, Nashik, Maharashtra –
Demythsifying Myths by Amit Bagaria is really a wonderful read of 18 myths in political history. It’s a short read with simple language and I would like to recommend this book to our new generation readers.
Kiranmayi G, AMAZON TOP 2000 REVIEWER, Hyderabad, Telangana –
Demystifying 18 Myths about India is author Amit’s attempt to provide his point of view on few of the common beliefs about prominent personalities and about the country. The author covers a plethora of events and prominent personalities in Indian history and politics and provides his arguments with precise thoughts. If you are inclined towards these topics, and love reading nonfiction books, then this book is a must read. A gutsy, risky, and interesting compilation.
Constantreader (Sunaina Singh), Student, Darjeeling, West Bengal –
After reading two chapters, I was hooked on it. I wanted to know more and more. The book will blow your mind to the limits. It comprises of 18 myths about India. From pre-Independence era to post-independence, it covers all the important highlights. It helps us to understand and question a lot of things, we also get many answers. It literally alters the image of everyone you had as your favourites as kids. Many questions such as what is better for a country – presidential or parliamentary system, role of Congress party, Indian political world, mysterious death in Indian politics, problems with our electoral system, how and to what extent our country was already divided before independence and much more. The author backed everything with facts and evidence. The amount of research he has put into it is quite appealing and the way of putting things for one to grasp is appreciated. Language is lucid and the book is well-paced. It is not a work which once read can be forgotten. It stays with you throughout, even it gives you a different insight about many incidents and many people. Overall, it is an amazing read to know what went down all those years ago and how it impacted our nation. This book is a must read for today’s youth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Sowmya Gopi, Content Writer, Kozhikode, Kerala –
The book busts some myths we have believed for a long time about Indian politics, history, and religion. A simple narrative that unmasks various truths and unfolds numerous historical events, that you wish were included in your history books. As you progress, the book fills you with questions and challenges your mindset. Among the 18 myths discussed here, some will surely leave you shocked, curious and even puzzled. The narrative is neat with the simple use of language that makes it suitable for all ages.
Anjali Mishra, Student, Vizag, Andhra Pradesh –
An interesting book which covers all the important myths about Indian politicians and mythology. Amazing writing.
Nitin Jain, Surat, Gujarat –
Though I would have loved it if there were more unsettling and rattling expositions that could let us know a bit more of our confused sense of history, whatever is there, it’s truly amazing! I surely recommend this book to all of you. Please read it and get your delusions and confusions clarified.
Aditya Shankar , Book Blogger, Patna, Bihar –
A book that tries to bring to readers [the truths behind] some of the most overrated and overused lies used like truths by many people for certain reasons. As the title suggests, the book tries to demystify myths… Amit has kept focus on the most shocking revelations for the youth.
Anis Parbatani , Advertising Professional, Indore, Madhya Pradesh –
It is exciting for readers to know secrets no one in the country wants to talk about. Different chapters discuss many different aspects, actions, perspectives and facts that I never knew. Young readers, particularly, will like this book a lot.
Ashish Mishra, Web Developer, Patna, Bihar –
A one of a kind book that reveals various layers of lies that the young and also grown-ups need to know. The author seems to have done his research very minutely and that further adds quality and authenticity to the text. I recommend this book for those who want to learn what they have missed, what they have been lied about, and what things no one talks about in India.

I really enjoyed reading this book loaded with facts, data, and secrets that I have not been taught in school or university. I was also one of those who believed in anything that came my way. Reading this book has changed the way I consume facts.

A book that tries to bring to readers [the truths behind] some of the most overrated and overused lies used like truths by many people for certain reasons. As the title suggests, the book tries to demystify myths… Amit has kept focus on the most shocking revelations for the youth.

Demythsifying Myths by Amit Bagaria uncovers some of the always known but never discussed questions or should I say the actual history created by our highly respected ‘Mahatma Gandhi’.
From abandoning Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev & Rajguru at the very time they needed his support the most, to the Kashmir problem, the author has directly attacked facts that were there but always eliminated or never explained. This book is a must read for all the growing-ups so they know not all the things they’re being taught are correct or what actually happened!

Our generation has been taught history which is completely compromised. We are taught history which starts with Mughal era. But what about India before that? The fight for independence, was it fought by just Nehru-Gandhi duo? If not, why aren’t we taught about others who mattered? All these questions were in my mind since forever. And then came this book, from someone who had same thoughts as me, who wanted to know the truth rather than just believe in what was told. I found this book really interesting. The language is very simple. This book gives you different angle to think. It uncovers some really good myths. And I really think our new generation needs to read it.

This book is good for teenagers and those just out of schools, as it exposes truths and reveals certain facts about our history and popular perceptions that have been misplaced, ill-imagined, and fabricated. Part of it may be shocking, surprising or unbelievable.

Our country is considered a country of people with integrity and the example showcasing this integrity is mostly Mahatma Gandhi. Well, whatever we are aware of and whatever we feel regarding personalities like M K Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, is half knowledge.
The rest half exists, right in front of our eyes, but we focus on is what is highlighted. And nobody highlights anybody’s wrong doings. This book reveals the rest half information we lack. I don’t agree with everything in the book but it’s worth a read.

DEMYTHSIFYING MYTHS is all about some myths we believe without asking any questions because those have been imparted on us since we could hear. Starting from Lord Ram to Mahatma Gandhi, 18 myths are unveiled. Must appreciate the author for selecting this topic because it involves lot of research as most of those are unknown to people like me. Knowing the negative side is quite shocking and hard to believe. I recommend this book to all those who are keen on knowing new facts.
Preetha Bakshi, Teacher, Delhi, Delhi –

An amazing book that opens up new spaces for learning. It exposes lies about many ideas, people and myths that were there for long. Indian history, geography and mythology have too many confused notions and the book tries to correct those. I am sure you will love the book.

We usually believe what is written in our academic books and mostly we will not go in-depth into concepts or ask how Gandhi was called Mahatma and Nehru as Chacha. It will be really interesting if you like social studies. This book helps understand past events in an easy way. It is a perfect pick for people interested in learning about past leaders and for this generation of people who are interested in knowing India that we have not seen.
Hiteshy, Book Reviewer, Mumbai, Maharashtra –
